Recovery guidance while navigating
freeze state shut downs, food aversion or comfort eating
Do what you can, even if it is the most basic version of a recipe. please, do not feel pressure to get every ingredient or add everything every time. Do what feels achievable and accessible to you, as long as you are getting nutrients into your body. As time and your healing progresses you will be able to add more as you build resilience and strength. For now be gentle and give yourself grace, follow your intuition when it tells you to add or not add an ingredient. This is your healing journey and you are doing this for you. Making decisions, even basic ones such as to add or not add an ingredient will give you foundational building blocks as you move forward in your recovery and resilience building. Decisions can be incredibly difficult to make and we may feel a misplaced obligation or guilt if we feel we are “cutting corners” or not doing everything suggested. Do not guilt trip yourself on your own healing journey. It is yours and you are learning to listen to your body and intuition right now. Work to empower yourself with every choice you make, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem. Listen, your body knows.
Store bought or made by a loved one may be necessary at first. If you feel a craving do not shame yourself, eat the food. Again do not guilt yourself, right now the most important thing is getting nutrients into your body.
I have personally found drinking my nutrients to be helpful while struggling with food aversion myself.
Try to aim for healthy comfort foods
